Document Management Systems

Anyone had any experience with low-end/cheap document management systems ?

 

We hold a lot of information for our commercial clients (specs, schedules, plans, quotes etc etc) and would like to convert as much as possible to e-documents.....

 

I know I can scan 'manually' and name documents, but I also know there are some clever systems out there that handle all this and allow indexing by contents.

 

I've just got a new multi-function laser printer with document feeder with duplex printing built in, so keen to make best use of it now our old laser printer has expired (not bad, used every day for 5+years with no problems or drum change until this weekend ;-( ).

 

So, anyone seen anything (or used anything in a previous life) ?
