Do plant nurseries close this time of the year as a matter of fact ?

There have recently been some fairly dramatic changes to Nurseries in your area, so we have heard though the grapevine.

We know the area well as T was born and bred in Farnham and Steve had been a Surrey Nurseryman for 30 years.

As we only deal with Landscapers and Garden Designers, you can be assured of good service, and more importantly, 1st quality plants.

As you may be aware, we are already supplying plants to and so sponsoring an existing LJN Member for an RHS Showgarden, so best is best.

Hi Garry, nope not up in Edinburgh anyway. Thats a strange one unless they are doing a refit / rebuild or something to the plant area

No, but those that officially open as a new business on 9th February 2011, like the South West Landscapers Centre in Piddletrenthide will then be open all year round, for all Landscapers and Garden Designers.

A year round service for our clients. Professional Nurseries don't get the Winter off.

We've a "large" Nursery near us that we put a list out to after Xmas for a job (Steve, want to quote ?) and we had no reply, so contacted them and no response, so tried another way and were told that this part of the business was closed until March.

Not naming them, but big and have been in 'landscaping' news recently

Is it not the busiest time of year in a nursery, seeds and all that stuff? Maybe too busy to deal with customers!! None of ours are closed.

The smaller, specialist nurseries around me are shut until March, but willl open if you ring them. They find that as they don't get much trade at this time of year, they are better off concentrating on their stock and getting a few days off. It is, after all, difficult when there are only 2 or 3 people working there and they are open 7 days a week for 9 months!
