Hi, I am now living in Auckland NZ and studying Dip Landscape Design at Unitec, I would like some help for a project I am doing please. I have to complete a "perspective sketch" only, of my initial ideas for a rear courtyard garden for a brand new modern terrace house. The garden is a small flat rectangle bounded by a tall block wall and 2 wooden fences on the three sides. Its my first project and I would like some help of ideas to disguise a raised rain water tank cover in the lawn area.(see photographs). All the properties have mains water but also sunken rainwater collection tanks (specifically for toilets, washing and garden taps). My idea is sketch the whole area paved (or part synthetic lawn) with raised gardens due to shade and small size and the raised tank cover is just in front of two steps down to a path. The only idea I can think of is sketching a bench style seat (with raise-able lid) over the tank cover? The finished sketches will be entered into a competition (non-monetary) & presented to the development company - I am at the beginning (first weeks) of my study so any interesting modern ideas would be REALLY helpful - Thanks in advance.
