Calling all amateur gardeners and aspiring garden designers. For the first time in its history the RHS Hampton Court Palace Flower Show is opening its gates to one lucky amateur gardener in an exciting competition launched jointly by The One Show and the Royal Horticultural Society. The competition winner will be invited to create a family garden of their own design at the world famous show (9-14 July).
We want to know what type of family friendly garden you would create on an 8 by 8 metre plot. What plants would you use? What features would you include? And how about the colour scheme? You can let your imagination run riot.
The design can be done on a computer, or by hand – the key thing is that your ideas are clear to the panel of judges. And the main criteria is that your design needs to work as a family garden.
We’ll need your entries by March 1st. After that the three most promising amateur designers will compete against each other for the grand prize - an opportunity to work with a professional mentor to create your garden in time for the RHS Hampton Court Palace Flower Show in July.
So now it’s over to you. All the details of how to enter are below.
