cutting costs

Hi,I know everyone has different running costs but iam wanting to know on a commercial operation what is the average/typical cost per m2 for cut and drop with a triple mower. We are using rotary’s at the moment but have been asked to look at a job which needs cylinder cut 30 times a year. if I have a starting point to work from I can see if its worth me going any further with it. We are taking about an area 50000m2.Thankyou.

  • This is 5 hectares or approx 12 acres. Given a clear open space this would be about 2 hours cutting with a triple for one man. Does the site require straight stripes? Are there posts or trees to work around, do edges need strimmng? I would work on the basis of time on site plus travel time to and from site, equipment used and man power needed. I work on at least £65 plus vat per hour from yard for a triple with operator plus what ever you charge for additional man power needed.
  • Hi David - yep there is trees/posts. I can cost the strimming and edging ok it was just not kowing what the triple costs are and was struggling to find out what I would be up against with the big boys in the game. Your post has been a great help. Thankyou
