    I cut posts before I put fence up, meaning I measure hole depth if I can't get it down a minimum 0f 18".I cut wooden posts with chainsaw and put uncut end in ground.disc cut concrete posts.

    Like Ken, I now cut them to size, using a handsaw, before the post is concreted into place.......................... so much easier to get a good square cut.

    cut to size with a chop saw before they go in the ground

    Yup, cut them before they go in, bit of loose concrete in the bottom of the hole and tap them to correct height.
