I have been looking on a particular site to establish the beneifts of registering for leads. The difficulty we have is the product we use is quite specific - Resin Bonded Aggregate and Resin Bound Paving. Not all of the lead generator sites specify this they just tend to be general so I am regularly looking more specific sites.
On my investigations I have come across the Mybuilder.com website. Feedback is quite an important part of this site and I have found a couple of local companies on there. Unfortunately one of these businesses has had 2 negative feedbacks out of 20! They get opportunity to address feedback but people remember the bad more than the good! And they are in the public domain! For all to see!
Does anyone carry out credit checks on clients for larger jobs? I have sometimes thought that I should have, and I will consider it in future if I don't know much about a client.
Yes, we do for first time commercial clients to see if we should work with them. The cost is rolled into the overall project price. No different than your suppliers doing a check on you for a trade account.

i google or see what comes up with full name , company , are or address.
surprising what comes up and what can be read about them , its usually enough to make a good assessment of them.

yes we do, and checks with companies house.
i hate the cowboy builder lets over dramatise everything type programs, but i had top laugh yesterday as i was swapping channels. There were the presenters waffling on about how bad the builder was and that their guys were going to put it all right. Behind her was a plasterer happily skimming over the walls in the room, which were still wall papered. Wonder how well that took. Still makes good tv for general public
