Cupped paving slabs

I w as about to order some polished sandstone slabs today ( Stoneflair Ivory) and was told by my supplier 'not a good idea mate'.

Apparently up in Scotland there has been a case of this product 'cupping' in the adverse weather we have had this winter. By that I presume he means like the way wood cups. He said it only affects this product, not any of the other polished sandstone.

 

Anyone heard of this? Do we need better specification from supplies on their products or perhaps this is just an unlucky case?
