A couple of weeks ago i had an email from a company that is 150 miles away, asking for a quote to maintain a pub landscape which is about 5 miles from our base.

What I found was that this company had been sending a crew of three people 150 miles here and another 150 miles to get home, just to maintain a pub / hotel which would have had a job price of around £200 per visit.

So the company were paying three people for a whole day to travel 300 miles and do a £200 job. To me, this sounds like financial suicide!

Do you have an opinion on how far to travel to do a job?
