Unlikely, but worth checking inbuilt filter in both triggers. They do get semi blocked and are forgotten about and if triggers are old, could both be partially blocked.....
Other than that likely to be pump. You can buy service kits with new seals and valve etc ....not too expensive
Does the handle feel tight when pumping? When I have problems I remove the Lance and work backwards towards the tank, normally the filter or pressure valve...
Thanks for the replies. I may treat it to a service kit, but I'm ready to pull the plug on this one, just doesn't seem as dependable as the diaphragm CP sprayers!
I would guess it has some valves in it.... my old cp15 and cp20 sprayers have 3 valves. You only need a bit of dirt stopping the valve shutting and you'll experience the trouble you're having. If you go on the Agratech website, you can download an exploded parts diagram for the sprayer which helps alot when you're dismantling it and ordering bits https://www.agratech.co.uk/cooper-pegler-series-2000-sprayer-parts-...
Everything is clean as a whistle after 3 strip downs and cleans! I'm going to try a service kit to replace all the seals.
Hi Sean, more than likely it is the Piston Cup Seal. Extract the main piston from the top of the tank, pull it right out and at the base there is a white, rubber seal which provides the seal so you get the suck/ squeeze effect when pumping. If the knapsack has had lots of use, chemical or iron used in it, the rubber seal degrades and shrinks. There is also a pressure relief valve spring inset into the piston halfway down the side - check this is in place too. The cup seal is for sale on its own or give it a treat and replace seals in a service kit 750308
Many thanks, it sounds like the piston cup seal then. Mine is dry looking and a bit brown in colour, I think the sprayer was used for iron.
I'm going to treat it to a service kit from you guys, hopefully that'll sort it!
