Could you just......

I don't mind doing extra work for people if they are willing to pay. However what customers don't seem to grasp is that I fill my diary based on the jobs I've quoted for so am usually running to a tight schedule. I find this very frustrating at times but have learnt to bite my lip and arrange another visitMy top classic 'could you just while you are here...' are:1. De-Ivy the guest cottage.2. Reduce the height on that copse of trees.3. Lop 20ft off that eucalyptus that is very close to my neighbours property.4. Crown lift those ash trees.5. Dig my flower beds overAnybody else got any classic 'could you justs'

I always say yes, if time allows and it's something I can do. It's when it's an extra half a days work and its four in the afternoon that I'm getting at.
  • Could you just's are not a problem if you can 'just' do them within the allocated booking time, theirs no problem pruning a cherry, or brushing in sand to the block paving if its done within this time, sometimes may mean spreading it over a few visits but all fine. Its when jobs that are really separate tasks, which would never be routine are asked for:

    1. Relay those wonky 30y old flagstones.
    2. Remove that 24" branch from the beech at the bottom of the garden.
    3. I love how springy is is under the beech tree, Quickly followed by; Make sure theirs no moss under the tree.
    4. Re-point the 120y old wall at the end of the garden.
    5. "quickly re-turf the bottom of the garden"
