concrete alternatives

I've received marketing info about a concrete alternative called Kongcrete that comes in a pack that you shake up and pour in. A chemical reaction causes it to expand massively in the hole over 3 minutes and set hard very quickly.

It claims;
Q-Set is a two part composite that does not require water and is supplied in handy lightweight kits. It expands and sets to 50% of full strength in just three minutes reaching 100% within two hours.

I'm always interested in reducing reliance on cement, for environmental reasons foremost. Has anyone tried this material?

  • I think its chemically similar to the expanding demolition concretes - its still a cement based product and has the associated eco impact, but it looks amazingly easy to use...
