At one victorian property we have 4 heaps, each 2.4m cubed. It's 2.5 acres with large herbaceous, mature arboretum, lawns and yew everywhere.
Could probably use 2 more but can survive with 4.
If i mulch mowed 4 would be ample.
At another property just over an acre of lawns, beds and shrubs. There are 2 bays at 1.5m square by 1.2m high, and a 3mx1.5x1.2 bay for dumping grass and leaves before mincing in layers on the heaps.
Another 3 acre site has 4 bays 1.2m cubed but a lot of land is orchard that is mown irregular.
I reckon 2.4m cubed per acre minimum but there are variables such as mulch mowing, shredding hedge cuttings or saving woodchip from tree works.
1 garden I look after is 1.5 acres with many beech trees and sycamore and herbaceous boarders aswell as the grass, I use 5 bays of 14ft x 6ft X 2.5ft, I use 3 for 1 season as 2 are composting down and then in winter empty the 2 on the boarders and then transfer the 3 into the 2 but they are well heaped up but do compost down over the season.
