choke problems

Evening All,

The choke on the engine of my new(6 months old) aerator doesnt appear to be working properly. By that I mean it wont start on choke, but when I take off the choke completely it fires first time, from cold too I might add. Anyone any ideas?

       its a honda gx 120

        Sorry mean to say a bannerman ba4 with a gx120.

    If it will start without choke, either it is due to the warm weather or it is picking up extra fuel from the jets somehow.

    If it runs ok and the exhaust gases aren't blue or black I'd go with it being all ok, but if it stutters and the exhaust isn't clean, it may need looking at.

    The choke is really simple on those engines, very little to go wrong.

    i second Scott h reply 

    if its in the back of your van and its hot the petrol expands and presherises thus putting more fuel to the carb in that situation most petrol machines will start without the choke

      Its been in a cool  garage since spring. Iv started it regularly enough when not using.. but it's good to know either way, either way.
