Chestnut post and rail

Hi all,

A regular client has asked me to quote for post and rail fencing. Its approx 65m of Chestnut posts with 2 rails (2.7m bays).

I was wondering if 2 days for a team of 2 sounds about right? We would hire a 2 man auger and its on open ground.

Cheers,

Gareth

Hi Gareth, a LM measure would help us help you cost this out

  • Hi Brian its 65 LM, forgot the important detail! Now edited the post. Gareth

I would say 2 days doing it with the auger, but would price it for 3 days. Weather and short working daylight could go against you.

  • Cheers Brian, much appreciated.

  • Not a great fan of the 2-man or single-man augers (if the going is anything but easy they can be a real pain).

That said, at 2.7m bays you have got 25 posts to put in. I would say with a 2-man team, 2 days should be more than achievable.

    1-day posting with 1-day railing
