Cheap but good petrol power washer wanted

Hi all

Asked to do a clean of some paving so thinking about buying rather than hire something in, any suggestions? Needs to be petrol please. Will be a days work in total,.I know the cheapest ones aren't for continuous usage, but I'm happy plodding along!

Thanks

  • To answer my own question, I've hired one. On further research nothing stands out as been both cheap and good... should have guessed really.😃

Depends what definition of cheap is and intended use and if it's fit for purpose allowing you to make a profit .

I paid £500 for a new Clarke petrol pressure washer and it's very reliable and bullet proof but it's no good for large drives but it's spot on for small areas .

Around Five small areas paid for the machine and on large areas found i was making a loss because it was taking me too long to complete work a more professional machine could complete in hours instead of days .

It is a nice add on benefit for regular customers to help keep paths cleaned .

If you can make a profit hiring a machine that's good business sense .

Some of the cable ones like Nilfisk have given me good results if you have access to to an electrical socket. .

Also plenty of applications you can spray on paths do a decent job without having to use a pressure washer .

One I use on our back path is Algon which I just water on dilute and leave for 24 hours , does a brilliant job which lasts for months .

  • I recently bought a Hyundai Pressure Washer (Which my local dealer now sells) and was really impressed. I've used it on a couple of jobs and it has already paid for itself. Compared to the comparable cheap ones on Amazon (Wilkes), this is way above. It has a two year warranty and as my local dealer sells them, any problems, I return to him.
