Cheap battery pole saw - what to buy?

Hi I'd really, really like a battery Stihl  ( I've their battery hedge cutters and strimmer )  pole saw but can't justify the cost. Will only be used a couple of times - main one is my own tree!

Any recommendations please? Needs to have a good reach.

Thank you

check out swift pole pruner , cheap but comes with battery and charger , this brand is made in the u.k , i have various swift cordless machines and very good quality also customer service is absolutely first class . some you can buy in the range or check out the swift.uk web site .

Alternatively buy a wolf garten pruning saw on the extending pruning pole its awsome .

I had a look at that swift stuff, just out of curiosity. The advertising videos are cheesy and mildly amusing. 😂

Not seen them tbh but bought a mower ,blower and hedgetrimmer and they are brilliant . Two years old and never missed a beat , the mower has really done alot of work .so cheap too .

You have to be realistic with such purchases and allocate them accordingly to the task .

Another make I have invested in is GTech , the hedgetrimmers I find very efficient on the right job

I went for the lightest tools I could find to help me work with tennis elbow and found they worked out and have lasted a long time .

Never heard of them before. Hedge cutter looks like it cuts ok. I've got all stihl stuff so probably stick with them and quit a few bits of Makita.

I wouldn't recommemd them as a replacement for stihl , I have stihl also but good for a low priced domestic cordless , The mower is light as a feather ideal for going up steps or over walls to cut a little lawn but also good on bigger lawns ,

Just exploration into the cordless world like any tool kit you can have a sledge hammer to do one job and a ball pein hammer to do a different job .

I had a battery problem once and rang customer services late afternoon , next morning as dawn was breaking parcel force arrived with a new battery and also a protective bag to put the faulty one in to return , i was very impressed .

  • Thanks John!

JUSt seen a Ryobi one .2.7m long. apparently, 140 pound with a free tool of choice, so I'll get that one, seems a bargain and ideal for what I'll use it for. I'll let you know if it's rubbish!

    • Hi I bought one of those ryobi's, when it was on a special offer. It runs quite crudely compared to the smoother operation of the stihl pole saw, not as long in reach and leaks oil a bit etc, so it only got used once so far, but it should do the job you require, and considerably cheaper

Hope it works out Edward , I have used the ryobi cordless drills and they were fit for purpose  .

      • I use the Ryobi R18SPL LED work light (running it on a "knock off " copy battery) and that is excellent also. There are a lot of tools in that One+ system, had a few of the blowers but they were for re-sell rather than to keep

        • Ive chosen the sander, as my old one disappeared somewhere!
