Chartered Institute Of Horticulture

Hi all,

I've been looking into the Chartered Institute of Horticulture. I've never actually dealt with them or come across them and their work (apart from the YHOTY competition), and having looked at their website I can't really see much incentive to join. When it comes to the latest information I use the HDC, but for my general gardening pleasure I'm in the RHS (although mainly because Rosemoor isn't far away) and have enjoyed AGS membership for more than a decade.

Just what does the IoH do to earn its high-end membership fees? I gather you get some letters after your name...? Any thoughts appreciated.
