Thanks Phil
Was thinking of doing this until i searched the forum and found this thread. It would be a night mare changing all the links etc i have for my page.
Does it change your blog address and any posts you have made on the forum ?
Will it affect my google search rankings?
It's a shame i did'nt think about changing it when i first joined back in September 2009. I can't believe it was that long ago!
Hi Stuart
It's a shame Ning don't make it clear that setting a specific URL is possible during the sign-up process.
I'm afraid changing your page URL will effect SEO (although the old pages will still be indexed in Google, their destinations will be met with a 404 error.
Blog URLs are automatically re-assigned but any external links to them may be lost.

I have counted the amount of links i have to LJN on my website and there are 18 in total
Some of them are links to my page, some are direct links to various blog posts i have published using LJN and the rest are links to forum posts that i started.
I am wondering if what will happen if i change my profile page url to end in Eco Garden Maintenance instead of my name? Obviously i will have to change the link url's on my website and i don't think there will be any other links to my profile page from me or anyone else. 18 links is'nt that many to change.
Phil?
Oops - i fired off another post without seeing Phil's reply. Thanks Phil. On a related topic, i published a blog post recently on LJN (it was indexed by google very quickly) and watched my website go up the rankings for the keywords and locations i used in the blog. Illustrates the awesome power of LJN!
NP Stuart.
There are going to be some major changes to LJN in the coming weeks.
Our development team started yesterday and have been working on design, data structure creation and system modules.
I was given access to the dashboard today to watch progress. In the next 2-3 days I will be able to actually see the physical site additions as they build (which I am excited about).
Ironically our changes coincide with a major Ning re-build.
Ning are moving away from generation their 2.0 platform to a new generation 3.0 platform.
This will result in some fundamental changes to the Ning site structure so I am pleased that our new off-Ning development is taking place now.
Members might see a few things jump about shortly but don't be alarmed:)
