i just got some gloves as my 'brother' helps me sometimes !!
white leather protected on top of both hands - for using on the ground
green polyester/yellow hide for using saw up tree as its better comford /grip ie less restriction & accurate movement.
trousers i now realise will , for up a tree, will be a bit heavy/maybe not warm as seatless !! hope braces work out?
so jacket protection on ' wasteline or shoulders/arms is most suitable folks ?? i have a stihl/peltor hat/visor/ear defender combi. i have classic stihl c-saw brown boots (notice i like stihl accessories /and tools)
yes insurance wont be impressed /wont pay out if not using correct equip .
and i have been using saw without (any) mostly for 6yrs. so experience i agree is best but :

old eric new a guy who ;asked his WIFE to hold a piece of wood - and cut her HAND. :-( ouchh i bet he had gas heating instead of open-fire !!
also someone nearby had 'van with tools and keys' in up country track ..........insurance laughed /wont pay out as keys inside.

worn hi-viz on this dangerous corner and would reccommend it near roads :-/

BiG Muscles also to enable holding the saw tight as they can be heavy and cumbersome,,,
also yes to pro-gard about chains . i always tend to use new/ and new saws .. no way would i use an old/or knackered saw i didnt know history about or checked over by expert/mechanic.
any advice on chain brake technicalities / use ? i guess use it as much as posible.
