We do a fair amount of shows and have looked at all types of card machines, some good some bad. We decided to go with the worlds most recognized money mover PayPal.
PayPal have their own card machine operated via a free app called "PayPal Here" You just download the app via the app store or the android version. You are then asked how many card readers are required. The cost of the reader is circa £70 as a one off payment.

The list goes on really but for us it was the inexpensive running costs and the ability to access our takings quickly. One company that I looked at would hold my takings for a month. But also worth pointing out that PayPal is trusted by the general public.
