I have the c150 which is the big brother of the c80 and I am looking to sell it (I need the space). I have used the c80 as well but this machine is noticeably more powerful. I would look for a price of £1k + Vat for the sale.

The basic specs are: 13hp Honda Engine, 4" chipping, 1/2" shredding. It is a good machine and is in mint condition (we have looked after it really well!). It will fit into the back of a Transit if you need to but I often put it in my trailer when I need to transport it.

It is basically a good machine and one I will probably regret selling.

Please ask as many questions as you like, I will try and post some pics (but I am going on holiday on Saturday for a week so it might have to wait until then).

The Camon beats the Elliet in one respect by not minding "dirty" material or the odd stone through the shredding chamber as it uses flails rather than blades. It is partly what attracted me tp the Camon in the first placed.

The C150 also has a movable screen so the size of chippings can be adjusted.

    Thanks for the info everybody.

If I'd got more cash I'd go for a Jo Beau with a proper chute. http://www.jobeau.eu/en/m300.asp. But unfortunately I'm a tight northener and don't want to spend that amount of money.

It seems to be taking be an hours round trip to get to my local dump, unload and drive back to site. Recently I've done a couple of jobs that require multiple trips which really eats into my working day. I find this really frustrating because as Tiger Woods said 'the majority of a tree's canopy is air' and I know I can get more in my trailer (even after attacking it with my chainsaw).

Plus if I can produce half decent chip I know a couple of people with horses who maybe interested in taking it of my hands. Also with any luck customers may want to start me to leave it on site (says he hopefully).

My recommendation be the Eliet Major (either 9hp or 13hp honda engine). With the design of the knives, we found it will tolerate 'dirty' waste - although it's not desirable for any machine. As the knives are 'tri-angular' you can just turn the knives around saving time and money before resharpening. It's belt drive so saving the engine if you block it. The machine also compact and is a large 'box' with no 'sticky-out bits' so is eaier to load & strap into van.

Why not hunt down a few hire shops who stock the Camon, Eliet & others and give them a try before parting with cah ?

That sounds like a plan Garry.

I think I'll hire one on the next big job and see how I get on.

      All the best

This really shouldn't be an issue Rowly. One way or another, your client should be paying to process the waste;whether that's a muck-away and topping charge or by the job or hour for processing on site.

Don't do it for free ;-0)
