Something went on a while ago and B&Q, Screwfix and Tradepoint all seemed to tie up when B&Q launched their new in-house Tradepoint service replacing their old trade card.

Our old B&Q trade discount card and credit account became obsolete and TradePoint came into effect in the larger B&Q Superstores.

You may joke (?), but some their bagged aggregate (ie 1Tonne bags) are V cheap when compared with local suppliers if you only need a few tonne (and delivery free)

Not sure of full story - but someone will be along in a minute with the full gen

Does sound interesting Gary, but who / what is the UK's No. 1 trade directory ?

Is it something that hasn't even been launched yet, if so why No. 1 or am I missing something ?

I have not checked for a while but they must of changed the terms as B & Q charged £5 delivery per bulk bag or pallet and they only deliver in certain areas on a fixed day

the other downside to buying anything from B & Q and needing to be put in the back of your van with a fork lift truck is they won't do it due to health and safety issues, they will only bring it to your vehicle not put it in

25kg bags of cement are always cheaper than any builders merchants if you buy 5 or more but its not always cost effective to travel 5 miles each way just to save 56 pence a bag

The 'you may joke' wasn't really meant for you Gary!

It was for the wider audience, that normally when you mention you use B&Q for aggs etc just laugh considering it to only be for DIYers......

Round here, we've had no charges and they do f/lift into/onto vehicles, but then we do have a lot of competition around here for suppliers

    Hi Gary,

It wasn't untill I noticed ProGards comment that I see you thought I might be joking in my reply. I wasn't, the question was exactly how I posted it.

I simply wondered who are these guys who are calling themselves No. 1 when they haven't launched yet. Your subsequent posts and others have answered that now.

I've never used a B&Q Trade Card so was unclear what this was all about.

    Cheers, Gary
