PRO

Most of us are wise to email scams these days.

Banks and other major organisations (including government departments such as HMRC) do not ask for personal details via email or over the phone.

The following email was rightly sent to spam by GMail but it's worth highlighting just in case you get a copy.

There is an attachment HTML form attached. Do not click on it or save it. Most of all do not fill it in.

Scammers are phishing for your banking details.

  • Strange you should say Phil, over the last two days I have had 19 notifications of tax refunds, plus twelve security warnings addressed to me by name from 'Nat West', the 'Nat West' ones would be a concern except we don't bank with them!

I get emails that appear to be from Nat West too Phil ...and I don't bank with them either:)

  • I hope to retire in the next day or two as a Nigerian princess is about to put £12m into my bank account and I will get to keep £3m of it.

  • Great news! ;)
