Best mower for wet weather

Hi

My Etesia Pro51 after 12 years, has I think decided to retire.

I would like another but they are so expensive and I'm not sure I can justify the cost.

What other mowers are recommended?  I've looked at Stihl RM756YC and Weibang Virtue 53 ASD BBC LV,,but as yet I'm not convinced.

I also have a Honda HRH536 Pro but its just not as good as the Etesia.

tried and tested in good old scottish damp soaking lawns after adverse weather has to be the weibang so long as it has a high lift blade, whilst not dropping clumps on lawn you will find you still need to clear under the cutting deck after each visit or you be leaving a trail back to the van

  • Its pretty simple really if its to expensive to replce you havent been charging enough 12yrs is a long time to save for a replacement.

others will do the job but won't last anywhere near as long so will cost far more in the long run. I too run etesia and yes very expensive but nothing else compares ive tried many and they cant touch them. Im 12yrs in with my pro51 and its still bomb proof id fix old if you cant afford new

  • Stihl 4 series are relatively inexpensive and I have run them and their Viking predecessor for about 15 years. I run a mower for 2 seasons then sell on and replace. They are light powerful machines good value for money.

  • If you like Etesias buy a new one!

Yeah its £2800 but over 10 years its £280 a year.

You can put it against your tax.

You know your business better than anyone I don't know how much mowing you do.  I only do a day a week so I counldn't justifiy that amount but I can justify £1300/£1400 on a pro mower which I tend to run for 4 or 5 years.  Everyone is different.

My advice is if you want it, you can justify it, then buy it!

    Hi Sean

I have a long standing habit of always looking out the window first thing every morning at my own garden and weather to gauge what work can be done by me or the other guys I know going out to do jobs.

Ground hog day comes to mind as every day appears to be rain recently !

Much like your Etesia I am now retired from hands on work, but I still think about the welfare of other guys trying to work in wet weather, so to cheer them up,  I sent them a picture of my own budget wet weather mower.31086874275?profile=RESIZE_930x
