Sorry to highjack your post but on the subject of futurescape we were also there yesterday. I have got to take my hat off to the organisers. It was a great show for us personally and also everyone who I spoke to had only positive things to say about the event. The highlight for me was sitting in on the interview with John Gregory of landform consultants. What an inspirational guy ! He gave a fantastic insight into how he has risen to the top of his game. Thoroughly enjoyed the interview
I think you'll find its Mark
Oh yeah, I dont know why I wrote John. Anyway, was a great interview. Did anyone else see it?
Paul,
I see you're only half an hour from Newbury so that means you're half an hour from the Newbury APL cluster group meeting place - the Red House at Marsh Benham. We're having a Christmas bash on 5th December - just a meal and a get together with no speaker or agenda and there will be several new faces there. Why not come along and see what the score is? For me one of the great benefits of the APL is face to face interaction with fellow landscapers and the Newbury group is a particularly friendly one. I travel 1 1/2 hours to get there so it must be worth the effort! Andy Whelan, the regional Area manager will be there as well which would give you the opportunity to talk about the APL and what it might do for your business and what you might get out of it personally.
Give me a call if you'd like more info!
Dave
We also have a link to LJN on our website, number 1, which through our experience is the future for our industry.
All 3 have merits, but in the cold light of day, LJN wins on all counts.
LJN has more Members than both.
LJN has more Member activity.
LJN is open and transparent, potential clients can read for free what Landscapers offer their clients.
Mark Gregory bought plants from us for his own garden, from us LJN fans, does that count?
Hope that this is of help.
P.S. the BALI quiz is good fun though...
Hi Dave,
Thanks for the reply to my first post on the Landscape Juice network! and thanks for the invite to the meeting, I also had an informal invite from Gary Cobb at Acer Paving who emailed me so it looks like APL members are a friendly bunch. I may not be able to do the 5th December but will try and rearrange some things.
I had a look at your website, looks great! You are using a lot of York stone which I am very jealous of, we use a lot of Indian sandstone purely to keep costs competetive but the York looks great.

Hi Tina,
I had a look at your website, are you Tina and Steve formerly of "Plants to Go" at Chobham? if so I hope all is going well for you. Thanks for replying to my post, the quiz sounds fun!

Paul,
If you can make it you'd be most welcome. I do find the social side of APL valuable on many levels, both personal and business wise. If you can't then email when you have a minute and I'll make sure you get details of next years meetings.
Also worth keeping an eye out here - occasionally LJN members organise themselves and have a get-together. I know this has worked well in the past. I don't think you'll get structure as such (APL meetings tend to have an agenda, be it somebody coming in to talk to us, or a round-the-table free for all about marketing, recruitment, busines growth or whatever else takes our fancy) but you will always get something out of face to face contact and there's some worthy guys on here.
Cheers for now,
Dave
