- but it's 'easier said ,than done' !
ive kept prices the 'best i can' , but now i will charge as before, and hopefully increase again slowly.
(if i cant , my time is more precious & i need health insurance now and mortgage to be paid very soon ) never mind a 'pension' of some sort !!
I do think that there are many pressures in times of recession that are out of most contractors control. Price reduction isn't always a concious thing.
For example, many contractors will keep their rates the same but seek to knock time from the execution (I am talking construction here) and maybe not look to add a 'buffer day' as a contingency of over running.
I hope that the work we have done on here and on LJ - what does a gardener charge and what does landscaping cost, rates very high (No. 1 at time of writing this) on Google - has helped to educate clients as to what to expect.
