Bad weather forecasts and Dyson cordless vacs

When I say bad I mean wrong, rain every day this week, proper undies wet (borrowed from previous post but now our benchmark,as in rain how bad....undies wet!) and was wondering what methods others used for weather prediction, digital, pine cones, mobiles, pet cats etc, am developing a pathological hatred of weather forecasters, nearly always wrong but never apologise.

Having got through yet another drowned rat day arrived home with best intentions of boots off first sometimes not possible due to bathroom requirements, laces to tight/wet,general malaise etc mud invariably in hall ,stairs, bathroom and was wondering if the Dyson cordless vac is the future, although reluctant to spend £230ish on a machine that doesnt cut grass or prune.

Hope your using wider boards mate :-)
  • I've recently invested in a new raincoat, it is a forestry one and has a longer back which covers the backside even when leaning forward. My previous coat had detachable arms (which I never took off) and let the rain freely run through the zips, so in a downpour I ended up with 90% of my upper body wet under my coat, very annoying.

All this year I have been getting soaked to the point that the only dry part on me is my feet (damned good boots this year!) Nothing worse than peeling off wet clothes!

So I've parted with some cash on the coat, winter boots, new c/saw trousers (warm), even an attachment for my C/saw helmet which covers my neck so the rain doesn't run down my back.

So, HOPEFULLY, I'll be drier this winter than I have been all summer!!

As for weather forecasting, hmmm, I have MET office app on my phone which gives localised weather forecasts sometimes it's right..... sometimes!

I am regularly getting "the look" for bringing my work home i.e mud in the house, i'm sure she wishes sometimes that she'd married a white collar man lol.

On a positive note. It is always nice after a "soaked to the arse" day to get home, hot shower, hot food and a cold beer. Then do it all again tomorrow!

  • Try this stuff. Spray it on your boots, your trousers, your coats, your gloves, your hat...everywhere. Yesterday my feet got soaked, today I sprayed them with this, was trudging in puddles...bone dry all day!!

Andy coat sounds interesting, any more info, thanks

    Neil have ordered spray,cheers

Have now decided to try a keep dry policy as opposed to buying more and more new undies having been advised by our accountant that Ive reached the maximum undie allowance for the tax year!

Anyone tried the Dyson cordless yet?

  • hello Paul, this is the coat I've got,

it's not a warm coat, you'll need a jumper underneath but it's kept me dry so far.
