    I do love autumn Steve.

It's been warm here today but the crane migration was a gentle reminder that nature's in the know about the impending cold:)
  • Autumn colours, knocks spots off of Spring, everyone does Spring.

Why be boring, and do what the masses do, enjoy Autumn and be bold!

Yep, in Surrey, we had a loverly crisp, clear sunny day - despite a cloudy forecast forecast.

It's the sort of Autumn day that is so enjoyable.

We had to strip out huge shrub bed surrounding a Statue at a business park, so spades a digging, matocks a swinging we systematically cleared the bed, lifted the old truf and worked up a good sweat.

1 8 yard skip later, we sat down in the late afternoon sun with some cold drinks.

    Magic.

Could only be bettered by being out on a ride...
  • Beautiful sunny day in Dorset.

Blue skies, cool breeze, wonderful views.

Beaches in Dorset are alledgedly some of the best around, all year!!!

I'll be more than happy to stay here.

  • C'mon Paul,

We all fight nature everyday, cutting grass, hedges, even growing plants in plastic pots!!!!

Step back, chill out, and enjoy the countryside that we all seek to maintain :)

I'm not a great fan of autumn, farr prefer the spring and summer in terms of working in, autumn and winter are a battle against nature in terms of low hours of daylight, rain etc.

I do however love working on a clear frosty day, beautiful.
  • Sorry John

The Darth Vader headwear does not appear until episode 24, around 28th January from memory?

Hold fire till then and you will be fine.

What's the latest on the clocks permantly changing - anyone know ?
  • Don't think that it will happen in our lifetime, as we are so tied in with European time.

We are all citizens of Europe now, and even the owner of LJ lives in France.

So, speak against Europe at your peril!!!

Autumn colour in France, as in the UK is brilliant, 10 points to me!!

  • I had that in a garden i tidied today, I thought my eyes were deceiving me at first! It was a lovely day here, we worked in Berkhamsted and Eaton Bray.
  • To be honest T&S Plants,

I enjoy the colour palette of nature freely available at this time of year, but if I'm honest, no not really, because summer has gone, its getting colder, you get up in the dark and drive home in the dark, soil starts sticking to your boots there fore you're creating mess and mess needs cleaning and cleaning is time, more time is required to cover electrics, timber cement, render works, paving, rammed earth works etc, your working hour is effected which has a knock on effect, I'm not too keen on the additional layer of clothing required when leaving in the mornings, I wonder how much time is wasted over the course of 5 years putting layers on and off whilst working at this time of year.

You know the best thing about Autumn is knowing Spring and Summer are just around the corner.
