Around here, Berkshire, they give around 20% and pdi the machines.
I have bought a couple of machines by asking a local dealer to price match an online price. They have not matched exactly but come to within about £10.00 which I thought was pretty good.
Same as Jim. FR Jones are usually the cheapest price online. I'd use them as a starting point.
The guys I use will usualy pricematch. I did once get the bosses daughter and she insisted on their website price so I didnt buy that day!
My local dealer...... Browns in Leighton Buzzard......did a discount but couldn't/wouldn't match the F R Jones price which was £60 cheaper for a BR700 blower. In the end, I just paid the extra rather than spend a morning going down to South London + fuel costs. I hope Browns would be a bit more accomodating if something goes wrong as I've purchased it from them.

I’m completely disillusioned with buying from my local dealer right now. Yes, I understand it’s a two-way street and we both need each other. He has his costs obviously…
However, after my worker was able to phone my dealer (I buy all my stuff there) and buy a chainsaw for much cheaper than I could and he has never set foot in the shop before that it just sticks in my throat.
Robbie, I think you need to ask your dealer why this has happened. It may be an oversight and it may make them value you more if you explain your (understandable) frustration.
