Artificial Lawns - Word of warning for all you who do garden maintenance

Just thought id post this so hopefully it may avoid someone making this mistake and possibly save them some money! We recently installed a large artificial lawn on a project. A few weeks later the hedges at the rear of the property were cut back by someone using a stihl combi with the long reach hedge cutter. As he was working along the hedge he did what most people do and put the motor on the floor whilst holding the shaft. the end result was a number of melted patches in the law from the hot exhaust gases.

Luckily we repaired it, but still cost a few bob. Not something that occurred to him or to us, so just something to bear in mind aside from chipping windows with stones from the strimmer!
