Artificial Grass for dogs

Hi Im starting on a design project that I think would benefit from an area of artificial grass. The client has a disabled wife and low maintenance would be helpful especiallly when it comes to the dog run area.
I wonder if anyone can suggest a good supplier thats product would be hard wearing but still look nice. Budget is also an issue. Thanks in advance

  • Hi. What area are you in ? I've done it a couple of times now and it can look great on a smaller area and with an over-lapping informal border. Ben

  • Thank you for your reply Ben, Im in Norfolk and I will be installing myself. What supplier did you use? Do you have any photos of how yours turned out?

  • its an excellent choice for it. weve installed it in a few gardens where dogs have turned the previous lawns into teh battle of the somme. Easy to wash down as well after theyve done any business!

  • Hi Shadow. I used Trulawn, very good quality. I'll try and send some pictures over, Ben

  • Hi Shadow,

We are an artificial grass supplier. Our products have been used often for dog run areas. If you want to have a look at an example of this at http://www.perfectlygreen.co.uk/artficial-grass-blog/item/1-artific... .

If you would like us to provide you with some prices that is no problem. All we need to know is the size of the area. I hope that helps. If there is anything you need to know please just ask.

  • I would recommend Namgrass products, they can deliver anywhere. My advice where dog use is concerned is a shorter grass height eg 18mm as its easier to clean up afterwards if you get my drift. Always follow the correct installation guide for sub-base etc, as like most products, its as good as the preparation. We have installed for Namgrass this last year & service & product are excellent.

  • Thank you all very much for your reply's. I have samples coming from all the suppliers. Stuart I would also like to get some from you as well. I will pop onto your website to order some. Duncan thanks for the advice, I do get your meaning, and will take that into consideration. Ben I look forward to see some photos whenever you get the time. Thank you all again

  • did one a while back for a family who's dog had trashed the turf lawn and refused to go on walks to do it's business outside (a rescue dog so anyones guess as to why it refused to go walkies), returned to do some further work on the borders around the artificial grass maybe 3 months later and by god did the artificial lawn stink of urine....... not really a deal breaker, just something to bear in mind

it was an area of 12msq and the dogs sole toilet, i've made dog loos for a couple of customers over the years - simply a sandpit enclosed in timber, so it's contained in one area - but of course that assumes you can train the pooch to use it.

    Hi.

I am not in your area but the best grass for your problem area is the Wonderlawn performance. This is a FIFA approved product and is ideal for heavy use areas where pets are exercised.

If you need more info let me know.

P.s The picture in my header is of a project we carried out for a client. We originally installed real turf to the courtyard area but his 4 collies destroyed it within a few months. We then replaced this with the Performance and 3 years later it still looks as good as new.
