Interesting idea but not sure how well it will work. I look forward to hearing other's opinions. Is it supposed to cut the grass at the same time I wonder?
it could potentially be one less machine to buy, looks like it doesn't cut grass, just scarifies it
Mmmm, not too sure about that. The action is completely different to a standard scarifier and I would think those two little springs would be working overtime and last 5mins!
I hear you, it does have a flimsy look to it
The springs do wear if set low so as to aerate the soil surface but last surprisingly well if only used through soft material.
I first used these some 30 years ago fitted to a Mountfield rotary mower.
I have to say they these springs are very effective and at times, too aggressive. They are really good for mass removal of spongy moss and when you have really thatchy lawns.
This shouldn't be an issue these days but be careful if using an old mower that doesn't have a blade brake. If the blade continues to rotate when the mower is stationary it's possible get a ring gouged into the surface of the lawn.

never used them my self but looking at the photo the blade seems to be the wrong way up check you have enough clearance on the top of the deck before you buy
