Applying Fungicide - Advice Required.

I have a regular customer who would like me to apply fungicide to the hedge at the front of the property. I am aware that for applying pesticides, a licence is required. I tend to avoid these types of jobs, hence I have not got a licence. I have initially said yes. However, the more I think about it, the more concerned I am becoming. The front of the property is on a main road, with pedestrians walking past. Although it is not busy, I am concerned. I may well go back to the client and say no. I did say this initially, but, he asked a second time and caught me off guard. Am I right to say no? If I lose his custom, so be it. Thanks.

You are very definately right to say "no" to the spraying - it only takes a random pedestrian to query or complain and you will be in deep problems.

Where in the country are you James? If you were close to me I would have no problems helping you out on this, and you keep the client - Im sure others would feel the same way.

    • Thanks, Adam.  You are quite right regarding one pedestrian which was in the back of my mind. I think I will say no on this occasion. In terms of my location, I am based in Oxford.

Good for you for being responsible. Just say no.

I've meet plenty a gardener that's never heard of the pa1/pa6 and or doesn't even care.

I've the ticket, but really don't like spraying chemicals, I avoid if I can.
