Anyone top dressed a sportsfield ?

Hi, might need to wing a top dressing operation with no experience. 180 tonnes with hired in equipment.

When your supplier drops the dressing off do they drop it in the car park for you to load onto the top dresser ? I would be worried about damaging the car park with a loading shovel. Or do they use a grab and wait for you to spread each load ?

Would appreciate a few pointers from anyone with experience.

Steep learning curve ahead !

    Never done anything like that
    To protect car park put some 8 x 4 ply sheets down on top of viscrean
    Keep some viscrean handy in case it rains.
    Top dressing and rain do not mix well.

    I would image a grab lorry to be slow... Can you give us some more info on what equipment you are planning on using?

    with the right machinery and brushing in couple hours job , done lot of this type of work

    180 ton would be around 6tipper loads normally would just be tipped, if you want them to load you up you will have to let them know in advance so they can quote you a day rate or hour rate.

    Cheers lads, not sure what to do. Only got a few hours to think about this but i'm erring on the side of caution at the moment.
