    I have always thought that datura stramonium was a poisonous weed? It is listed on the RHS site as such. I have a garden where the odd one pops up now and again in the gravel. It's an annual weed, the seeds of which create a highly hallucinogenic drug.... Are you sure that is what they want? Or have they got the name wrong? A much more attractive plant, with similar properties is Nicandra physalodes - readily available as seed.

    Try smelling thr flowers of Datura or Brugmansia at dusk. If container grown bring them inside and enjoy the scent as it fills the room...

    Ah, I see! Well as far as I can see, as it is an annual, they will not be able to get them at this time of year. I did see them in a cultivated setting several years ago at Merriments Garden in East Sussex - may be worth a punt! If not, they will need to find something that looks very similar. When are they filming?
