Access problem

Anyone got any good ideas on getting plant / materials into a back garden.

The only access is from the front. Option one is via a steep set of concrete steps - approx 12 steps high. We could board it out but I think it is just a bit too steep for pushing heavy barrows up.

Option 2 is another set of steps that are not as steep but they twist and turn so will be difficult to board out and would have limited turning areas for a barrow.

I was thinking of some sort of conveyor belt system?

We need to bring in approx 5t of top soil and various machines.
