accepting credit/debit card payments

Are there any other Landscapers out there who accept credit/debit card payments, we have a card payment terminal and have used it a few times but when taking payment over the phone, if the cardholder is not present it then has to be authorised, and we have had to wait up 10 days until payment has cleared and various phone calls chasing this up, It is very costly and I would like to know if there is an alternative system that works well, I have looked in to I-zettle and paypal, I would be very grateful to hear any suggestions.

    i have the same problem, have you decided upon a scheme if so who are you with and what cost

    Hi,
    We cancelled our terminal as it was costing £105 every 3 months, unfortunately it was a years rolling contract, so took us a long while to get out of that, we only really processed about 3-4 payments in that time! I have now set up with paypal which charge a very small amount and we accept bacs payment, this seems to be working out quite well for us,

    It was recommended to me by Mark whilst I was searching for a payment solution for our premium membership payments.
