A quote for the Insurance Company

''The Insurance Co said get some quotes''.

Okay, I've been called for a quote, it's a boundary wall and fence structure that's blown down. Like for like replacement required.

I'm used to dealing with 'real people' - domestic and commercial clients - and don't have any experience in producing a quote that's going to an Ins. Co.

What experiences do you have? Is it worth the (assumed) extra time and efforts?

Cheers, Eugene

  • whenever I've done them, its been a case of produce a quote for the client exactly the same as anyone else and let them pass it to the insurance company. I've sometimes got a phone call from the company asking a few questions as to what's this, or whys this cost this etc, but never any real extra effort. I always make it a stipulation that the client is paying me and my contract is with them, not the insurance company, to avoid the waiting for payment from the insurance company excuse.

  • sort out payment terms first!!

Add a little extra on as landscaping works are seen as specialist works, ive seen my labour prices double on certain jobs.
