I'm just finalising the last details of my tour around the UK with our sponsors Progreen for the Practical Pesticides roadshow, which starts this coming Monday in Edinburgh.
You probably won't be aware that th guys at Progreen have been extremely active and supportive in the last few weeks, planning, writing their presentation and organising venues etc.
I've no idea how many emails we've exchanged or how many Skype and telephone calls we've had or indeed how many ideas we've bounced off of each other but activity has been considerable.
LJN events don't just happen but they need an awful lot of work so a really BIG thanks you to Louise and Richard for all of their hard work in advance of our epic 1,275 mile round trip.
We have at least 42 people attending thus far but please do think about coming.
An education event like this - especially one that carries CPD points - can easily cost anything from £50 upwards to over £150 but all costs (apart from individual travel and time off work) is being covered by Progreen & LJN.
You don't have to leave a comment here but I hope you'll join me in thanking Louise and her Progreen colleagues for their support of LJN.

It's good to see suppliers getting involved, and to be honest this type of marketing is the best. Building a trusted brand is hard, but this is a very good way to do it. As I see the progreen ad everyday at the side here, and their involvement in discussions, I think they would be my first port of call if I was looking to buy their kind of products. I would also shop around, but I always do.
Plus I think progreen Lincs are my closest place to get my spraying licences. I'll probably be seeing them soon :-)
I'm right with you in everything you say Graham.
I've gone blue in the face over the years trying to persuade suppliers that involvement inside their respective clients' domain is the future for our industry.
Luckily Progreen didn't need anything explaining to them, that's why I think they are going on to big things. And well deserved it will be too.
Looking forward immensely to the event to gain some valuable update training, but also the chance to chat to Progreen, Phil and others. I'll even get the Coffees in if I can at Camberley :)
Not often such events come along, particulalry free, so if you can take a bit of time off & attend - do. It's got to represent excellent value.
It's #OurAssociation, so let's make the best of it ..:)
Thanks to everyone for the kind words.... thanks to Phil as well as he has committed a lot too!
If you've not booked there's still time to come along knowing in advance would be good - particularly if it is Camberley as Gary will know if he has to visit the cashpoint! ; ) However if you don't know until the day you can still just turn up you won't be turned away.....

Well it's all done and dusted and we're all back to base.
I would have liked to have seen more people attend as I think the presentation by Louise and Richard was excellent.
As a company, Progreen maybe still fairly young but their collective enthusiasm is second to none, compared to some of the businesses and individuals I've worked with over the last 6 years, or more.
I've worked in the landscape/hort/greenkeeping industry since 1979 and I would like to think I have a good general knowledge of the use of pesticides but I have to admit that I came away with some great tips and advice.
I'd have liked more time to talk LJN with members and in hindsight I think we maybe should have held all of the meet-ups in the afternoons, with an evening social for those who wanted to stay on.
Thanks again to all who attended and especially to Louise (Progreen) for her support and Richard (not) for spreading his lurgy:).
The journey
I didn't record the exact mileage when I returned the hire car but is was easily in excess of 1,350 miles for the week.
I travelled a lot, it seems, on the A1. The highlight (and I think I can speak for Richard and Louise) was travelling up to Edinburgh last Sunday.
The scenery was absolutely stunning, coupled with the amount of laying snow and the moody sky, made for one of the most interesting car drives I've ever had.
Poor Richard - and I hope he doesn't mind me saying - was recovering from the flu and slept through some amazing sights.
Thanks again Progreen... a great week:)
