Use of images article

I have recently been in conversation via the network with Kerrie on the best way to get your images seen by search engines. I will write up a piece drawing together a few of the points I passed on, but also wondered if people have other questions? I don't want to go into the technical elements of taking good photos, I'm not the best person for that, but I can help with the search side of things. So if you've any questions please add them below and I'll try to answer them in an article, or two if necessary. All the best Craig

    Hi Craig

Turning an image into a link but still keeping the image justified lefo or right with wrapped around text would be good.
  • Hi there-is it a good idea to given the photo more than one name?
  • Hi Craig - getting images seen on the web is two-edged. The more they are found and seen the greater the chance that they will be mis-used. For the landscapers here the worst danger is that their images might be used by another landscaper for promotional purposes - it could even by a competitor.
Of course as the law stands copyright remains with the photographer but policing the use of images is very difficult.....and enforcement should it become necessary even harder.
What thoughts do you have on protecting our images yet getting them viewed as much as possible.
Should we have a creative commons option on this network so that we can specify to what extent we want our images protected?.......after all some folks might be very happy for their photos to be used freely.
I know Phil wants to keep this LJGN free and open, and I agree that's the way to go as much as possible..........any thoughts?

    Cheers

    Richard

    Hi Lara

Glad the article proved useful :-)

Don't forget you could always use the network as a way to gain some feedback on the new site, always found it helps to let some fresh eyes take a look over a site you've been busy with.

    All the best
    Craig
