We have the 10 foot and 6 foot Henchman ladders. We keep the 6 foot ones in the back of the van and actually need them to get the 10 footers locked and unlocked. Can only imagine you’d need some kind of extended locking system to keep both on the roof.
Don't own one, hailo ladders for me. If I did I'd probably strap a small one, to the top of the inside roof or knock up some kind of spacing frame out of timber or possibly use some of those strap on material roof bars.
I'm with Honey badger on this one, I work with Hailo ladders and find them a lot more flexible with jobs than tripod ladders , I do have a henchman tripod 8ft with 3 adjustable legs but I don't work with it very often..
Hi Adam, I initially bought the 8ft henchman pro. I then got myself the 14ft model. I have a transporter t5 swb and the 14ft goes on top. The 8ft can go in the back but it's a bit of a pain. If it's full, then I'd have to take the extendable legs off to give me a bit more room. Fed up with this, I bought the Niwaki 4ft tripod ladder and it was a great decision. The top step is like a platform and when stood on that, there isn't a great deal of difference between that and the 8ft henchman, albeit without the legs extended. The Niwaki is only one extendable leg but is so light and compact that it fits in the van so easy that it always stays in the van. The 8ft is surplus to requirements now. So for me to carry two ladders, it's 14ft Henchman on the roof, 4ft Niwaki in the van. Doesn't answer you're question about two tripods on the roof but a useful way to have to ladders on the van
Hi Adam
I have a tiny nemo van , I can get a 12 ft henchman on the roof and a four foot step ladder inside which i need to get the henchman on and off the roof and also to reach the bottom rung of the henchman when its fully extended .
However i use the ulti bar roof rack which enables me to get a set of wide platform ladders and an ordianary extendable ladder side by side with room to spare , The ulti bar has four supporting adustable posts , one in each corner which helps stabalise the ladders along with usual ladder clamps .
They also adjust nicely to the shape of a henchman which is then secured in place with cam straps , never had an issue .
That sounds like a solution, thank you :)
Thank you .... I think I now have a cunning plan, especially as Niwaki have just sent me a voucher.
I have the 10' Workware ladder which goes on the roof bars on my Traffic. I use retractable straps to tie it down, just throw the hook end inbetween te legs/framework & then tighten up onto the bars. This would work well with a second ladder on top as well as you would pull the tow down together.
The retractable straps aren't meant for a heavy load but they are much quicker to pull tight & release as well.
