Think you need a lot more details..............you don't say how much you've got to take off.............. what sort of hedge is it............. whats the width..... is it both sides......... whats alongside the hedge (grass, shrubs, paving) The there is how far away is the tip. How many bags will fit in the trailer So impossible to comment on the price. I'
Ive done some huge laurel and privet hedges............. gone over the cuttings with a mower seveal times and then blown the cuttings back under the hedge
Does that mean for a hedge 2m high and 1m across the top the charge is £25/m? Or possibly more?
Do domestic clients pay that?
as Graham says but i dont agree with blowing the cuttings under the hedge because the birds just scrat them out again.also you will be on steps to cut back at 8ft so it will slow you down you will want to charge a minimum of £5 m2 maby more depending on what type of hedge and how thick the stems are, if you fill a dumpy bag with conifer you will not lift it
David, we use a honda hrx in mulch mode and after 3 passes even with large volumes there is next to nothing left , just done a conifer hedge and it destroyed the cuttings. A powerful back pack blower is needed to push the arisings well into the bottom of the hedge
Some sites yes if the hedge is narrow you can't do it but we still mulch as it reduces the waist or we mow and collect which does the clearing up and reduces volume
A pic .., of both sides would help a lot.... My worry, other than the quantity of waste is will you have slopes / flower beds etc to deal with.... as in can you get ladders safely and quickly all along it - and as Graham says, how wide is it? I used to cut a 12' beech hedge that was wider than a fully extended long reach machine - it was a total pain.
As Graham, more info needed. But the price sounds heavy
