Equipment manufacturer Etesia is reminding all buyers of its turf care machinery and its UK dealerships of the importance of warranty registration at the time of purchase.
This follows an incident recently where a ride-on mower bought three years ago required repair work, which ought to have been under warranty. The dealer concerned had started on the necessary work but then stopped, telling the customer that the manufacturer had refused to do further repair under warranty. The machine had been sold by a dealer who could not fully service this area, and as a result, never registered with Etesia for warranty purposes, so the company knew nothing of its existence let alone the problem that needed to be put right.
Etesia got to hear of the customer’s dissatisfaction, arranged to meet them, and readily agreed to rectify the fault.
“Warranty registration is such a vital part of our customer service”, said Les Malin, Etesia’s UK General Manager.
“Apart from the obvious peace of mind it gives the customer, it ensures a tight working relationship between them and their local Etesia dealer. We pay dealers for any repair work they may have to carry out should there be a fault to a machine as a direct result of manufacture. Failure to register at the time of purchase means this whole process breaks down.
“Above all, we like to get to know the end-user. It’s the perfect way of making further improvements to our products. There are very few faults, but we do need to know about them when they do arise.”
