[PRESS RELEASE] As Glee looks ahead to the 2010 show, the show organisers continue to build on the promise of delivering the most cost effective show within the garden industry. As part of this, Glee, along with all other Emap Connect shows, has appointed Melville Exhibition and Event Services Limited as preferred contractor to help drive down exhibiting costs for all exhibitors. Effective from April 2010, this savings and service initiatives will include a cost reduction to all exhibitors of 10% in electrical fittings and mains (at today's prices), the introduction of early-bird discounts for all shell accessories and an exhibitor loyalty/discount card. A new joint customer services programme will give exhibitors a seamless run up to organising their presence at the event. This is in line with already existing schemes introduced by Glee. For the second year running prices will be held, meaning that no exhibitor will experience a rise in their price per square metre, in fact the vast majority will be paying less. In order to achieve this, a new discounted price structure has been applied in order to reward loyalty and volume. Lapsed customers will also still qualify for loyalty discounts as their price will reflect their previous history with Glee. Glee show director, Daniel Thurlow, said: “These new initiatives have been introduced to reflect the fact that we are dedicated to drawing critical mass, absent brands and even more innovation back to Glee, to ensure that we continue to offer something that cannot be seen anywhere else. By delivering such cost effective solutions to all our exhibitors we believe that Glee can further cement its position as the most profitable three days within the garden and leisure calendar, and we look forward to developing our offering further over the coming months. “We’d also like to thank Melville for their continued support and are delighted to confirm our ongoing relationship with them. Both Emap and Melville recognise the importance of delivering the best possible value and return on investment to our exhibitors, and have no doubt that our new pricing structure, as supported by the expertise of Melville, will be a benefit to all.“ Glee exhibitors will also be able to benefit from additional added value initiatives that have been designed to ensure that all exhibitors can tap into a rich resource of market expertise and advice. Glee’s dedicated marketing and PR teams are available to help maximise promotional activities and boost profile in the lead up to, during and after the show. Glee will also be expanding on the introductory scheme initiated in 2009 with GIMA. The pre-show marketing workshops have been designed to help all exhibitors prepare and to maximise the opportunities associated with participating at the show, plus information and advice on support facilities available to them. Find out more Glee is the leading trade event for the garden and leisure industry, including key sectors such as plants, garden design, garden care, garden leisure, garden retail support and garden home and gift. "I have a 6ft pair of Niwakis, wish i’d had them years before I did. I initially got the 8fts and immediately realised they would be a pain for the majority of hedges I used to cut. I think they are brilliant just make sure they are seated properly.…"

"I wouldn't cut a hedge without one. Anything over 6' you should get with 3 adjustable legs, otherwise they can be unstable if you lean - but positioned correctly they are the only way.

"Yes had that scenario where you can't reach a fiddly bit no matter what ladder and have to balance on the apex of a shed roof or do best job painstakingly with a long reach pole pruner . "

"I'm very wary of these tripod ladders, I took a life changing fall from the top of a 12ft tripod. Now I only use them myself with great care. The issue is that they are very unstable at the top if you lean to either side, and they go with no…"

"the tripods are good but in some scenarios the wide base and the fact the 3rd leg has to be placed some distance away from the step part for stability makes this large foot print impractical eg when cutting hedge behind a shed or greenhouse with…"

"Tripods are better than any other ladder that's a fact. You can cut hedges that are lower than the ladder but it is more awkward, I have a 6ft amd a 12 foot been using both for the last 15yrs and haven't come stuck yet. Believe me once you've had…"
