Garden Design Clapham London: This garden in Clapham was dominated by an imposing privet hedge and the gravel which was the only surfacing material tended to be trodden into the adjoining kitchen. The garden needed built-in beds, seating and daybed to both maximise on space and also provide somewhere to sit, lounge and barbecue. The raised beds give height to the planting in order to create privacy. A daybed, generous enough for two, and a cantilever seat give in hardwood timber compliment the new hardwood decks. The planting design included a specimen Fig and Olive give structure and are complimented by evergreen planting that will maintain a clean look year round. Deteriorating fencing was replaced by contemporary slatted screens allowing light to pass through but maintaining privacy. A modular rattan cube set made the perfect choice to allow for leisurely dining without taking up valuable space.
