Garden fencing is something which you don’t really think about and take for granted
about 90% of the time. It is usually not until one of your fence panels is blown down in a gale, or a concrete fence post cracks during the
winter frost that you suddenly give your garden fencing any attention at all. Other
damage that the long British winters can inflict on your fencing includes;
wooden fence posts rotting, tree branches falling onto your fence and damaging
it, winter storms or just heavy rainfall can also cause damage to your garden
fencing. If you are in one of these, or a similar situation, then you really
need to replace the missing fence panels or damaged fence posts as quickly as possible.
As much as you do not realise it, your garden fencing contributes to the overall security
of your home and you do not want to leave any vulnerabilities open for
exploitation. Damaged fencing can also cause problems with your neighbours as
it will impact the security of their home too. Therefore, it is best to try and
get the damage repaired as quickly as possible.
An alternative to replacing sections of your fencing is to consider whether a fence repair item would be appropriate? A repair spur could be used to support a
damaged fence post or a support bracket could be used to secure loose or
damaged arris rails. If you are considering replacing your garden fencing to give your garden a new look then quick-fix repairs over the
winter would seem more prudent as a short-term fix until you improve your
garden in the spring.
