  • Hi guys how have you managed with such cold temps, frost etc with regards to cement works---you not taking a big risk????

  • PRO

The last couple of days it has been fairly warm (well above 4c! ) and with God on our side we have managed to install the pond walling. Without giving away to much of our secrets - we did use fast rapid cement which setts so much quicker than normal.. Our wall is solid! We are professionals and have waited for the perfect day to install the pond wall - taking advantage of the warmer days.

  • Its all very well installing through out the day whilst the temperartures are above 3 degress, its the early hours of the morning when the earth is at its furthest point from the sun, no amount of covering will stop the frost creeping into the water in the mortar.

By using rapid cement or sika 4a does these products evaporate the water molicules in the mortar?

Is that 7n, 10n or thermalite blocks being used?

Does any one want to Come and check our brick work? You will see for yourself if the mortar, has gone off! The wall was constructed three days ago, and believe me it is solid.
  • Ok fellas, thats you procedures.

Should any prospect being reading this thread I'd like to make it crystal clear that Jackson's Landscape Design will not install any cementious works at 3 degrees and dropping.

no one is trying to undermine or belittle here, I'm curious about the water, additives and frost combination.......thats it, nothing more nothing less.
