The construction of a new garden patio using Marshall's Fairstone riven paving with a 3 ring circle surrounded with 100mm x 100mm Fairstone sawn and tumbled setts and pointed using Marshall's Weather Point 365

Before the work commenced

Remove the existing turf to the required size of the new patio

Lay 100mm type 1 MOT sub base and compact using a vibrating plate

The patio incorporated a Fairstone 3 ring circle in the centre of the patio, this was set out using string lines and steel pins to make it easier to locate the centre of the circle once the concrete bed was put in place

Each segment of the circle are laid in place and gently taped to the required height using a rubber mallet, a level is used  to check the correct fall

The finished Fairstone riven paving 3 ring circle laid on a full bed of concrete

The flags are cut to shape around the circle

And placed into position on a full bed of concrete

The Fairstone sawn cobbles are placed in the correct position on a pre screeded bed of concrete

Pointing the paving using Marshall's Weather Point 365

Any surplus pointing materials is removed and each of the joints are struck with a brick jointing tool then the patio is lightly hosed down

See how its done

  • Good grief Mick

Have you money to burn.. 4" of mix under a patio is a little excessive dont you think. I would of put a little more stone in. The mixer must of been on overtime lol.

Still a very impressive job indeed. well done

    Regards Mark

"I've done 5ft Thorne troughs. Very easy to plant just got a mini digger dug the trench then drop them in couldn't be easier however £250 per m does seem expensive. "
