AV Arboriculture Ltd offer a wide range of tree consultancy services, from inspections and BS5837 surveys to tree planting and soil de-compaction. Although we are based in Edinburgh, we will work across Scotland and England. Our clients include local authorities, large land-owners, architects and developers and housing factors as well as private home-owners. We are happy to carry out any size of job, from the inspection of a single tree for hazard potential through to planning surveys and reports for hundreds of trees on a site to be developed.

AV Arboriculture is owned by Mike Charkow who has gained an MA (Honours), the LANTRA Professional Tree Inspector Certificate, the Technician’s Certificate in Arboriculture and the Certificate of Competence in ‘Bats & Tree Related Works’. With over 10 years experience in tree surgery, Mike has an excellent knowledge of the potential problems trees can cause to people and property, and how to remedy these problems. He continues to attend seminars and conferences to keep up to date with the latest arboricultural research and industry best practises and is also a committee member of the Scottish Branch of the Arboricultural Association and a professional member of the Consulting Arborists Society.
